Kiambaa Elected Leaders 2022
On 9th of August 2022, Kenyans of all walks of life woke up early and proceded to the various polling stations across the country to vote in their leaders who will serve them for the next five years.
As is the norm in every contest, there were winners and the not so winners. This report specially undertaken by Levkin Blogs seek to inform you, our estemeed reader, how the various candidates performed across the Kiambaa Sub-County in particular.
But before we dive into how Kiambaa Sub-County did, let's briefly analyze the presidential contest because as the indications goes by, this is one of the hotly contested yet. A difference of about 200,000 votes only.
Unless stated otherwise, all the information disseminated here emanates from the Independent Electoral & Boundaries Commission (IEBC), the only institution in Kenya mandated by the constitution to conduct and supervise general elections and from the The Kenya Gazette (Gazette Notice No. 7995), the Government Press, the official Kenya government printer.
After much anxiety across the country, Deputy President William Ruto was announced as the President-Elect and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua as the Deputy President-Elect, defeating the former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.
Raila Odinga contested the results and lodged his complaints at the Supreme Court of Kenya in order to have the elections nullified since he alleged there were some irregularities in the election process.
After listening to the petitioners and the respondents for seven days, all the seven Supreme Court judges made an unanimous ruling of declaring that the elections were above aboard and if there were some irregularities they were minor to affect the final tally.
The door was now open for the President-Elect and the Deputy President-Elect to be inaugurated, in which was done on 13th September 2022 at Moi Sports Center Stadium in Kasarani, Nairobi Kenya.
